Legoland Florida (July 2026)

Legoland Florida hosted a group of invited media guests for summer 2026 “Lego Festival” on July 20, 2026, and I accompanied a hosted media guest. Legoland is in Winter Haven, FL, a drive of a bit over an hour from the Walt Disney World area. It is the former site of Cypress Gardens (and still includes some of the gardens and its famous banyan tree). The morning started early, with blue sky and a light breeze around 8:30 am, but Central Florida in July had other plans: the day turned muggy and hot quickly, with two storms rolling through (fortunately, we were under the canopy over MiniLand for the first, heaviest downpour, and indoors having lunch when a second storm brought loud thunder and a momentary power outage from a nearby lightning strike. By the time the visit wrapped up, only occasional light rain remained on the way out, and, of course, the drive home went right through Walt Disney World.
